Certainties begins with the stories of a family whose roots extend beyond the ground it inhabits: an eclectic Spanish, Italian and Argentine folklore made of symbols, anecdotes, characters and memories. Over time, repetition opens a fault line between certainty and truth. The missing parts of each story are completed by imagination and by the creative licence of whoever tells it again.
The project brought together printmaking, painting, screen printing and ceramics along the staircase of El Imparcial. The route required visitors to discover the works from different heights and negotiate the instability of the steps. This lack of firm ground reflected the experience of roots in motion: bonds that leave, return and remain, and the paradoxical advantage of never fully belonging.
