01 — Context and process

Within Open House Madrid 2025, Brenda Ranieri opened her workspace as a territory where the solid and the unfinished coexist. Ceramic forms appeared as remains of an imagined archaeology: works from an uncertain time, halfway between ruin and germination.

Each work emerges from mixtures of ceramic bodies with local clay, recycled metal and other natural resources. Exposed to different temperatures, these materials expand, resist or deform, turning the kiln into a co-author. A fountain at the centre of the installation kept the dialogue between fire, water and earth alive. The project invited visitors to perceive both what remains and what is about to change.
